Sorry! Is been a long while since the last time I updated our blog! life has been crazy, but here is a copy of our Christmas letter telling you guys a little bit about our crazy year!

December 2011

Dear Family and Friends,

Another year has come and gone. We had a lot of new experiences and we are very excited to tell you all about it.

Chris graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelors of General Science, with a minor in Chemistry. He got a job with the school, which is nice since he only works when there is a home game. He was also accepted to the OSU College of Pharmacy! It was nice to attend to his white coat ceremony, and his first term in school is officially over. He is involved in a lot of extracurricular activities, and participating in study groups that keep him occupied.

As for me, I was offered a job at Rice’s Pharmacy. It was a blessing from the sky! I quit my job at Goodwill and I couldn’t be happier. I really needed to get out of there. I love my new job and the people that I work with are the friendliest and the greatest people ever! I started my first term at OSU as well. It’s been a really busy term for me, too.

Chris and I were able to travel a little bit this summer. We visited his grandparents. It was a nice trip, and along with that, we were able to see family. We both wished we could had spent more than just the one day over there, but I needed to get back for work.

Also, right before school started we were able to take a trip with Chris’ little brother Michael to Trinidad to visit Chris’ other grandparents. I had never been there, so it was quite the experience. We visited the redwoods, we saw a whale lost in a river, and we saw a massive amount of elk at the beach. We listened to Harry Potter 7 on CD while driving. It was a lot of fun.

Also we spent a few days in Bend with Carol and Terry Virgin and my sister ‘s family. We were able to visit lots of places. Terry cooked a very yummy barbecue, and like always their hospitality was amazing.

We hope that your year was pretty much the best. We love you, and we hope that you will have a wonderful holiday season.

Look What I got today!!!!!!!!!!

And you want to hear what was the best part of it..... it was FREE!!!!!!
I was so excited. Everyone at work has one and I started to feel left out. My job sells this bags and if you have one, it seems to be the best bag out there. Apparently it had a tiny little defect and the person that had bought it brought it back to the store. Since the representative didn't want the bag back, my boss gave it to me.
The best news of it all is that I notice what was wrong with it, and in less than 2 minutes I fixed it! :) I'm very excited to say that I got a great deal today :)

Amy and Isabella

Our hamsters passed away last month. Isabella died July 7th, and Amy on July 26th. They both live for at least 2 years and that's what usually a Teddy Bear Hamster lives. Chris and I had lots of fun with them.
Isabella was Christopher's and she loved to escape from her plastic ball. The plastic ball allow her to be anywhere around the house, without being lost. However she realized how easy it was to chew on the plastic and escape. The most amazing thing was that even though she escape, she always came back every time we called her name. Chris has taken her out countless times to the little grass area in our apartment building.
She had wet tail disease, which I had learn that can be from stress. So I fixed the bigger house and connected it to the house she already had. Problem solved! she loved the new addition and we hardly ever saw her! She would sleep and she stopped bitting the bars to get out. It was amazing.
Amy was mine. She loves the plastic ball. She can just be there for hours, and actually she has been in there all night long!. Christopher will spend some time playing video games in the computer, and since I had to work the next day, he was usually the one in charge of putting her back on the cage. Well, sometimes he will forget about her, and I had woken up in the middle of the night or the next morning to find her rolling around. She usually will get out and drink some water and fall asleep. Amy had a routine. She would wake up, drink water, go to the wheel and bathed herself, she will go and get some more food, drink water again and then she will start biting the cage. Biting the cage was her signal to let us know she was ready for another adventure in her plastic ball. She will walk willingly to her ball, and roll around like a happy hamster. Chris also took her out to the grass area. In her last days, she stopped asking to go out. She wasn't strong enough to roll the ball. It seem like she was mad about the fact she couldn't go thru the tubes to her bedroom, since she spend most of her time biting the plastic tube with rage. It was sad to see her get old that quickly. She was my tough little hamster. She fought till her last day. She will curl up in your hands and let you pet her.

Second Wedding Anniversary!

Chris and I recently celebrate our second wedding anniversary. Since it was Sunday it was hard to go to some restaurant and/or watch a movie, etc etc.
We decided to go to the park, have some strawberries, play some sequence and of course take our pet with us!
Yes, we did take our hamster Amy with us to the park. She took food and water with her in her little carrier and walked around us while we played. She doesn't walk really far from us, she kept herself with a hearring distance. After walking for a while she decided to take a nap, so we cover her with the sequence box cover, so nobody will attack her while she sleeps.
It was a nice quiet afternoon and we really did enjoy it. The day was also sunny and warm which made it even more perfect. :)

I cannot believe is been so long since my last post. Has it really been this long? The answer is yes!. Chris and I had been really busy with school work and preparing for Graduation day.

Chris- He graduated from OSU with a Bachelors in Science and Magma Suma something else. In other words, he graduated with Honors. He has been looking and applying everywhere after graduation. So far he hasn't got any call backs. Chris also turned 27. He wasn't very excited about it, but he had a very good birthday.

Ellie: Well let me tell you this, saving 13 seats in section 114, at the OSU stadium were you can basically smell the fake grass sitting there, wasn't really easy! but I was able to do it. His family got there a little bit late, but just on time.
I'm all done with school and excited to start OSU during Fall term. :)

Group wants Mexico to suspend visas for LDS missionaries

SALT LAKE CITY -- A small group of Latino Utah residents wants the president of Mexico to suspend the visas of Mormon missionaries until The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints takes a stronger stand on the immigration issue.

"We have made our position clear on the Utah Compact and on the immigration issue." -LDS Church spokesman Scott Trotter

Raúl López-Vargas says he has collected about 100 signatures on a petition that he plans to deliver to the Mexican Consulate of Salt Lake City on Monday. He is calling for Mexican President Felipe Calderón to sit down with the leaders of the LDS Church and ask them to take a concrete position on immigration.

López-Vargas said he believes the LDS Church has the power to influence Utah lawmakers. "They have to say something about this problem," he said.

By not saying anything, López-Vargas believes it gives the impression that the Church does not want immigrants in Utah.

"My personal concern, I don't like to see missionaries be used as a means to resolve our immigration problems. I don't think it's a good idea. There are other ways." -Tony Yapias

"We have made our position clear on the Utah Compact and on the immigration issue," said LDS Church spokesman Scott Trotter, referring to the church's support for the document backed by a wide variety of community leaders. The compact calls for laws that "properly balance love for neighbors, family cohesion, and the observance of just and enforceable laws."

"My personal concern, I don't like to see missionaries be used as a means to resolve our immigration problems," said Yapias, whose own son recently returned from a LDS mission. "I don't think it's a good idea. There are other ways."

This is seriously ridiculous! Im not against illegal people here, my parents moved to Argentina before I was born, and then it moved here to the US, where My sister and I had met our husbands. I know what moving to another country means and what applies, but we all need to follow the law. I don't think using the church just to get some papers, is the right thing to do. The church abides and follow every single country rules, if the missionaries don't get their visa on time to go on a mission they do teach in some state here in the US, till they can get all of their paper work straight before moving to another place. I think taking away something so precious as the missionaries from a country is not right, if they really believe in the church, they know how important missionary work is. I'm member of the church not because my parents are, but because the missionaries came to our home after meeting with them on a sunny summer day in 1997 in a frequent street.

These people are using the church as a easy way out, and if the church folds, and accepts this ,then a lot of people are going to become members just for the paper work and then forget all about it. Correct me if I'm wrong, please, do it. However there are other ways to get legal in this country, and I agree the country needs to do something about it. I just don't like the way people are using the church to get something else. I had met and known people that decided to become mormons because they lived in Utah, and thought it would be an easier way to live there. They didn't follow the rules, and they drink constantly. It was really sad, and this article reminded me of that.

My Abandonment

As many of you might know, another term of school had began, along with a lot of reading for me! I'm taking two psychology classes, ( abnormal and social), anthropology and Writing 122. One of the many ( and I really mean MANY) books I have to read, it is called " My Abandonment", by Peter Rock.

If you haven't heard of the book, you really should go to the store and get a copy. It is an amazing TRUE story about a father and his 13 year old daughter who were living in Forest Park, Oregon for 4 years in 2004. The father being paranoid ( thinking the government was out to get him), took his daughter and decided to teach her the ways of the world from a different point of view. She was very well behave, and read only encyclopedias, she had grown attached to the only piece of toy her father had given her, which is a very unique toy horse. It was hard for me to picture Randy ( her toy) so I googled the horse.

This very unique horse, is used for acupuncture, and is basically her security blanket.

Their real names are Frank and Ruth, but in the book we never know his name, and her name is Caroline. This is such a heartbreaking story, it had raised so many questions. I had found on the internet some websites about the real story. The First Part of the story and the Second part.

Peter Rock had spend month trying to find out what had happen, and he created the ending that he believes will fit best.
One of the things I had notice is that through out the book, the father refuses for anybody to take a picture of his daughter, something that I had found very unusual. I will love to talk more about it, but I don't want to give the ending away! just click on the link provided, and read the story yourself. :)

December 2010

Christmas is here! Christopher and I are pretty excited to be able to tell you about our year here in Corvallis, Oregon!

Christopher has started his last year at OSU. During the summer he spent most of his time working on his pharmacy applications. He worked in different places to obtain experience in different areas. He worked at Bi-mart, Petsmart (with Kolby), a local pharmacy in Albany (where they taught him about compounding), a hospital in Eugene, and others. He had lots of fun experiences. In the time being, he also had the opportunity to spend time with his family in Eugene and spend a little time playing the new Starcraft with his brother Michael. As the time came closer, he finally was able to submit his applications, which are Pacific University (Hillsboro, OR), OSU (Corvallis, OR), University of Utah (SLC, UT) and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (Manchester, NH). We are really hoping that he gets into school in Oregon, but we will see what the Lord has store for us. It would be nice to know what our next 4 years are going to be like.

As for me I got a job at Goodwill. It’s been such a blessing to find a job so quickly in this economy. We are very grateful for that, it’s been interesting, but I’m working on it ;). You definitely meet the most random people; I also went back to school, so I have been working 32 hours a week and taking 15 credits, it’s HARD! But sooo worth it. Hopefully I’ll be done this year with my Associates of Science if the classes I need aren’t full. I’ve been driving to Salem once a week to visit my family as well to work with the Peterson’s. I love it! It’s been a pretty hard year for me, one of my friends as well as my grandma passed away this year. It really makes you realize how precious the atonement is, and how grateful I am about the gospel in my life.

Here Chicken, Chicken, Chicken....

Chickens! This term my friend Candie had to raise chickens for one of her classes, sadly this chickens had become your delicious Foster Farm Nuggets. Candie doesn't have a car, and she lives about 2 miles or so away from the chickens. I offer to give her a ride, especially at night to take her over there. We had a lot of fun, especially since the weather has gotten really cold, I was glad to have a car to help someone out. They were really cute Chickens and this is right before they had to leave. They started to get very stinky but they didn't had a bad life, they were treated really good and well taken care of. They had like 4 other students to check on them twice a day, and make sure they have room and food, and water.

A Lot of you might think this is funny, but believe it or not I been trying to get rid of that tv!, we never EVER use it and it was taking over some space, however it hold sentimental value for Chris he got that tv when he was about 11 or so with his money he made with his paper route. I got to convince him that we needed the space and that tv that was creating another life because of generations of dust. Now it has a new life at the Goodwill...trash most likely, they don't put those tv out.

Halloween!!!

So We might had carved our pumpkin's a little bit earlier this year, but sadly mid-terms falled the same week as halloween and we needed to study for our classes.

I decided to make a nice kitty as Chris decided to make a castle, as you can see Amy was pretty excited about the pumpkins....actually Amy and Isabella had a feast with the pumpkin left overs. Isn't she adorable?!

Since the last time I blogged, I turned 23!, It doesn't really feel any different from 22, but to tell you the truth I cannot believe I'm 23. I definitely DO NOT feel over 20. I'm almost at my mid-twenties, something that I never thought it would happen. Don't get me wrong, I'm not freak out about getting older, I will always be young....er than my husband and that makes me feel a lot better :) My mom came to see me for my birthday with Kevin and Brian. They are both getting sooo big! I love having them around, and they sure make my birthday so much better than previous years. :)

So, Chris and I decided to go on a date before school started. We went to Tillamook Air Museum and we had a great time!

We enjoy the beautiful work of art that is! it took them 9 months to build that or so.

We also went to Pizza Hut to have lunch and then we came back home. It was a nice little adventure since we had been wanting to go since we started dating almost 3 years ago.

So...Chris left on Wednesday morning to go to Utah and drop off his little sister at BYU for her second year. After him bugging me for a couple of days I said yes. Is not a big deal for me for him to leave for a couple of days. In fact is fun, since we had a long distant relationship it reminds me of it. All the texting, the little chats until I fall asleep, when he tells that he misses me and can't wait to get home to see me. Is nice and cute and it reminds me why i fell for him in the first place. Also I get some freedom, which means that my tiny apartment is not going to get destroy 1 second after I'm done cleaning it and organizing everything. I have time to do my crafts without thinking what he would want for dinner. I play Wii ( which I got a new favorite game) read ( cuz i need quiet time when I read, something about the second language that it makes it a big hard for me to concentrate in a room full of noise) and most important of all, I get time for myself. To think, to relax. Everything sounds great, except for one tiny detail...As soon as the sky turns dark blue, the stars come out, makes me realize that I'm alone....not only that, but it also makes me wonder if anybody else realizes that I'm alone too. I can't stand being home alone during the night. It FREAKS ME OUT!!!!!! Every little noise i hear It wakes me up in the middle of the night, I actually get NO sleep whatsoever when Chris is gone. Is it normal? Does it happen to everybody? I think it wouldn't bother me so much if I had a dog or a cat you know? but even tho I love them so much, having 2 hamsters don't make me feel safe.... at all!!. My husband thinks I'm being silly. I have nobody that will come and stay here so I'm committed to stay awake until I go to work at 7. Last night I got no sleep at all. I was so awake, that I felt the urge to write one last email to my missionary. Now I'm updating my post.

But all is good, Chris is coming home tomorrow, which means that I will be able to get a very nice sleep and get ready for more days of work to come.

Lexie's graduation

Chris's cousin Lexie graduated from high school on Saturday. To be able to go to it, I had to switch my days and worked 10 days straight, yup that's right TEN days!!!!! I wanted to kill myself, but after having 5 mondays in a row the days were starting to go by faster. We left on Friday in the morning and we got to Ukiah...that's right, you heard right, UKIAH California. If you don't know there is it just click on the name lol.
We had a Wonderful time. The weather was just Beautiful and it was really hot.

This Guy Graduated in 1929, He just celebrated his 100th birthday. Pretty impressive. There was another person who graduated in 1958, but yeah 1929 sounds way older.
Who would think they were so many graduates in Ukiah....it took 20 minutes to go thru all the names.

Chris actually turned 26 this year. He was really sad that he is getting older. You can tell he is by the few gray hairs that are showing up on the side of his head, so to make him feel better we change his age, instead of making him younger, we...well...make him OLDER!!! That's right! lol, He looks pretty good for his age, I have to say... :)

I hope he had a great time, he receive a few gift cards, a computer and a Nexus phone. Yup, he was a lucky fellow.

So I notice that It has been a LONG while since the last time we updated our blog. not much had happen, although when we USED to have nice weather in Oregon Chris and I had the idea to go on a date...a picnic! :)

That was such a great idea, we had lots and lots of fun, we enjoyed the nice weather and a nice round of chess game. That's right, I play Chess... I pretty much suck at it, but we like playing it.

We promise we were going to come back to this very nice park for more wonderful time!

Preztels!!!!

Ok, just today I realized that some people asked me for the recipe, so I decided to email them and also post the recipe in my blog just in case :). Sorry it took me a while!!! :D

1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1 dash salt
1 1/2 cups ( 110 degree )water
4 cups flour
1 tbsp baking soda
1/4 cup warm water
1 cup melted butter

Combine first 4 ingredients; allow to rest for 5 minutes.
Stir flour to mixture & knead for 5 minutes
Place Dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and allow to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Divide dough into 8-12 equal pieces- roll each other into a rope, shape each rope into a pretzel.
In a pan put water to boil with the baking soda, dip pretzels into mixture,leave there for about 20 seconds and place it in a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake in a 550 degree oven for 8 minutes or until golden brown
Brush melted butter onto hot pretzel.

The topping that i used is : Parmesan

Sprinkle with a mixture of 1/4 cup granted Parmesan cheese and 1 tsp garlic salt. :)

So...Chris and i have been watching That 70s show, we are now at season 7. We usually sit down in the afternoon, drink mate and laugh...a lot! The other day we had an idea, since I had the day off we thought it would be fun to make some Pretzels. It's been over a year since we made them together, last time, I burned my hand, foot and face with hot butter, it was extremely painful.
I think they came out looking pretty good, and they were delicious!! It was nice to spend some time with my husband and having fun.

I cannot believe we are in 2010! times has been flying by for sure.
Chris and I had a great 2009. My sister gave birth to her second child! Most of our Friends got married, I will have to say 30+ couples, so that means about 60 people! that's just crazy. We love them all and we are glad we have such great friends!
2009 is the year that, Chris and I got married, moved to Corvallis, made a couple of trips to California and one to Utah, were we dropped off my sister-in-law Crystal to start her first year in BYU- Provo. Chris started his first year in OSU, so far he is loving it! and I'm glad, We got 2 hamster where we have so much fun with.
We hope everyone had a great New Years! We are excited to see what this year will bring, hopefully it will come with some weight loss and a good job for me! :) hehehe

Our Friends got married at the Portland Temple on December 18th! Chris and I are so excited for them. We had the great opportunity to be there for their sealing as well their reception. We are very proud of them and we couldn't be happier for them. Kinzi was such a beautiful bride and we cant wait to see them again :) Here are some picture of Steven and Kinzi Johnson

Thanksgiving plus a Birthday Party! all in one weekend. We had a blast. Carol prepared a wonderful thanksgiving dinner. The Next day we woke up early and head over the sales! it was tons of fun. It was also Kevin's 4th birthday. We celebrated it by having family over. Jim and Robin stop by. What a weekend!

My neighbors house caught on fire. I was cleaning the kitchen when i heard all this cops cars and ambulance sounds, i wonder what happen so i had a pretty good view from my bedroom window.

There was a lot of people and traffic was all stopped. I saw a girl running screaming "Oh, My God, Oh, My God, Oh my God" she had a blue apron on, so i think she work either at Richie's that is right across the street ( a supermarket) or Rite Aid , also across the street. The damage to the house doesnt seem to be too bad. There wasn't a lot of smoke, and i saw no actual flames. Let's hope all is good.

Chris and I went to the park! We had never been in there, we enjoy the beautiful foliage even tho it was cold. There was a nice statue with different animals and we enjoy taking pictures :)

Hamsters!!!

I been around pets my entire life, when Chris and I got married, I wanted to bring my cat with me, but Chris is allergic to them, so we decided to have hamsters instead. My sister had the house, and we found someone gifting Hamster in Craiglist. We met this women in Wilsonville and she gave us 2 beautiful girls hamsters!~ Chris loves them, we have so much fun with them. Chris named his hamster Isabella, and mine is Amy. Amy loves the ball, they are barely 2 months old! :)

San Francisco

We drove back from Utah, stopping by Ukiah, California to visit some of Chris's family. We had so much fun!. Kerri took us to see the exhibition of King Tut in San Francisco. They didnt let us take pictures of the exhibition, which was really sad, but it was AMAZING!!!!! We walked around the museum and stop by the ice cream place before we went home. :)

Utah Trip-Day 4

In our last day in Utah, Chris and I decided to go to the Salt Lake Temple, finding parking was horrible, but we finally decided to park 6 blocks down and walk our way there. It was really exciting day for both of us, This was the first time both of us went into the Salt Lake Temple. We both loved it there. It was amazing! We were so happy to be able to go.

After the temple we spend a really relax afternoon with Cory's dogs. Annie and Chasqui. I think Chris had a great time!

Utah Trip- Day 3

Cory invited us for lunch at this new place in Orem by Costco. It was amazing!!! Is a pizza parlor with a pirate theme. The food was great and the restaurant makes you feel you are part of Pirates of the Caribbean. If you are around Orem, you should totally go!!!.

Trip to Utah- Day 2

We woke up in Utah! We had such a great morning, we had breakfast and later on drove to Provo to move Crystal in. After we got her all move in, she had orientation, so Chris and I went to Cory's and hang out there for a while. In the afternoon, we picked up Crystal and went to Steven's house, where he made some burgers for us with Kinzi. Jason show up with Hillary. She's so nice!!!!.

Then, we went to visit Jenn and Judson, who celebrated their one year anniversary on sunday. We stayed there for a little bit, and catch up. We had such a great time! I love my friends and enjoy see them again.

Trip to Utah- Day 1

Here we go!!!! The day is finally here. Chris and I packed all of Crystal's stuff on the van and head over to Utah. We left at 4:45 am. We hardly got any sleep. It was a really long trip. WE stop in Oregon to get gas, in Mcdonald's for breakfast, then again in Idaho for Gas and lunch at JAck in the Box. We had lots of fun, the weather was pretty nice. We all got turns driving.

After such a long trip, Anthony and Marcella open the doors from their home to us. We had a great time! We went for a walk with them around the neighborhood. Marcella made some delicious mac and Cheese, follow by popcorn, smoothies and a movie!. We had a great time. :) We love you guys!

The Honeymoon

Chris and I went to Lincoln City for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Peterson's beach house. It was great!. One of the things we did, was Lunch at the Portland City Grill. The restaurant is in the 30th floor and you can see the entire city from there. Is pretty much amazing! We both loved it. I had a sandwich and Chris had a chicken mandarin. The dessert was the most amazing fruit sherbet, it had fresh fruit and a delicious raspberry sauce.

We also went to the Hantfield Marine Science Center. We had a lot of fun looking at the animals there, Chris had fun touching those weird sea plants/creatures. I had fun taking pictures. this turtle was a lot of fun, it would follow you with his head. It was pretty funny. Later we went to the beach across the museum and there was a lot of dead crabs and such. We had a lot of fun :)

We went to Newport and walked around. Our main purpose of that trip was to see the sea lions, but they werent there. So we enjoy each others company talking. When we got home, we made brownies. Marcella and Anthony gave us a brownie pan and fun confetti brownie. So we had a great snack! :) Thanks!

We had a wonderful time at the beach. The most exciting part was the last day. We went to see HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE!!!!!! It was a great movie. I had to make Christopher promise me to take me there in our honeymoon. We both enjoy it.

Hi Everyone! Chris and I got married July 10th, 2009 and we decided to created a blogspot to give updates about our life together. We know lots of our friends have this, so we hope to be connect it with all of you!.
Our wedding day was great! we got to see lots of our friends, Some of them flew from Utah , Arizona and most of Chris's family came from California. We were both really happy to see all of them. We love you and we thank you for your efforts in coming to celebrate with us.
